Most scariest thing...
Oh boy... The scariest thing I've ever encountered. Probably when my brother was in his really bad accident last year. It was about 2 in the morning when the doorbell rang... "Hello Mrs. Wegstein... I'm Officer Harding. Your son has been in an accident." I was in bed when all of this was happening, but I remember it like I was really there. "He has be life-flighted to OSF about 10 minutes ago..." To remind you of what happened... my brother was in Magnolia, Illinois with some of his friends drinking. Well Dillon had had too much alcohol and he decided it would be a great idea to get on the back of a ranger (which is like a 4x4 side by side farmers use to haul stuff ). Dillon rode in the bucket... sitting on a lawn chair. Dill was wayyyy to intoxicated to even scarcely remember what happened... To continue his story... the guy driving the ranger slammed on the brakes going about 45 MPH. Dillon fell off the back of the ranger, smacked his head off the road they were driving on, and cracked his skull open. Some of the kids that were there were under-age and drinking. The kids that were under-age ran back to the house to get there story straight to tell the cops. They completely lied to the cops. Well when they ran to the house to get their story straight... they left my brother laying on the ground, basically dying... he laid there for about 15 minutes. He could have gone brain dead or even could have died!! But a ticket was much more important than a friend dying...... "Mrs. Wegstein.. will you follow me and my deputy to the hospital? Your son really needs you right now." My mom told me she was about to cry, but I knew she was lying. She was crying as soon as she saw the policemen standing at our front door. I could have lost my brother that night... to freaking underage drinking. He was left there on the ground... dying... so the kids could make a story to tell the cops... to lie.
